Policies-
We offer optional trip insurance for guests called Travel Protection. If opting out, please note that only gift vouchers will be issued instead of refunds, up to 2 weeks prior to arrival.
BREAKFAST is complimentary and provided daily. We serve at approximately 9am. You can either dine in our dining room or take it by tray to another location convenient to you. Please let us know by the night prior if you cannot join, or if you will instead have light continental.
HOUSEKEEPING: For multi-night stays, please let us know if you wish to have your room refreshed by housekeeping, as we will not enter otherwise. You may text us or notify us in person.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: For the convenience of our guests, we offer contactless arrival and departure. You will receive a text message on morning of arrival with the front door code, as well as other useful information. Masks and Hand Sanitizer are provided in the foyer and common areas for guests if you desire.
PAYMENT: Reservations are confirmed after completing your booking. Payment is collected in full at time of booking. For any room that allows for an additional person there is a $60 charge for adults and $45 for children over 2 years old. We accept Venmo, cash, or can charge your card for any incidentals purchased during your stay.
CANCELLATION POLICY:When you made your reservation, you were required to check a box acknowledging our cancellation policy. This acts as your signature and is legally binding. The fact that you completed your reservation with us constitutes your having accepted and agreed to the below terms and conditions of our cancellation policy. Not reading the policies does not constitute an exception to the contract. All cancellations are subject to our terms and conditions as set forth in our policies which are made available to all guests PRIOR to reserving and confirmed immediately upon reserving. IMPORTANT- If you booked through a 3rd party website such as Booking.com or Expedia.com, you MUST cancel your reservation through them. We are unable to cancel for you, please notify us first and then proceed with your cancellation with them. Again, our terms apply to all reservations, however, you must initiate the cancellation through the OTA you originally booked with in order for us to process it.
PHOTO AND FILMING POLICY: All photo shoots and filming of any kind are subject to advance approval by the owners. At least seven days advance written notice required prior to any personal or professional photo shoots. No exceptions. No closed door filming allowed. Additional fees apply. You may not simply reserve a room for a photo shoot or filming. A liaison designated by the Bissell House will be assigned to monitor all photo shoots and filming. Please call us at 626.441.3535 for further details if you have questions about this policy.
LUGGAGE: As we are a Bed and Breakfast/Inn and not a hotel, please note that there is no bellhop on the premises to assist with luggage. All guest rooms are on the second and third floor and accessed by stairs only.
NO SMOKING OR BURNING: We are a completely non-smoking property. This includes all tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and similar devices, medical and recreational marijuana, as well as the lighting, burning, or combustion of any substance, including but not limited to, incense and any plant material.
A guest who violates this policy, or allows a non-guest to violate the policy will automatically be charged a minimum fee of $400 to return the room or space to a non-smoking condition. Any violation of this policy will be cause for immediate eviction, and there will no refund. Any guest who violates this policy will remain personally liable for $400 fee if the guest’s payment card is declined.
PARKING: One parking space inside our property is included for you. You may also park at your own discretion on our side of Columbia Street. If you drive an oversize vehicle you will find that it is difficult to navigate our narrow driveway with the port cocheres.
REFRESHMENT IN ROOMS: Please treat our home as you would your own. If you choose to take refreshment in your room(s) we ask that you take care. We prefer that you do not bring excess food and groceries into your room as it can attract pests. We are an independent small business. Spills are costly and time intensive to rectify. No cooking of any kind is allowed in any of the rooms. We also ask that you use extra caution with coffee and red wine in the guest rooms. A fee will be assessed for any extraordinary cleaning charges.
INTERNET: We have complimentary gigabit wifi capability throughout the house. The password is in the foyer and 2nd floor landing, and you may simply point your smart phone or tablet camera at the QR code, and it will automatically place you on our network. We also have an Imac and printer/copier available for guest use in the library.
Device Charging: We offer multiple chargers in guest rooms and common areas that have USB and power ports, as well as Qi plugless charging capabilities.
PLUMBING: We request you NOT use anything other than toilet paper in the toilets.
CHILDREN: For safety reasons and as a courtesy to fellow guests, we ask that parents be attentive to their children's conduct. Children must be monitored and attended to. At no time should children ever be left alone at any time, indoors or out. We also have a no running, no screaming policy inside the house.
GRATUITY: Many people inquire as to etiquette surrounding the topic of tipping. Tipping is optional but much appreciated by our hardworking breakfast and housekeeping staff. You may leave cash, use the Venmo code in each room, or simply request that we add a staff gratuity to your card or you may use our Venmo account.
PETS: While we wish we could, we are sorry but we cannot accept pets. We make up for this by supporting animal welfare work both personally and professionally. If this is a concern for you please let us know prior to making your reservation. Service Animals are never denied.
Check in time begins at 3pm. We offer early check-in for an additional $30.00 with guaranteed arrival at 1 pm. Please respect quiet hours between 10pm and 7am. Check out time is 11:00 am. Late check-out may be available for an additional $30 until 1pm, depending on availability.
LOCAL EVENTS: We recommend www.pasadenanow.com for current events. There is an events calendar there you can view to see what’s happening in and around town during the dates of your stay. Also, visit www.discoverlosangeles.com for free admissions, two for one specials and other offers and discounts to LA area attractions.
